Two Poems
By Jatomi Wisdom Innocent
DID YOU NOT GIVE ME HOPE
In the midst of the cold
emptiness of the street
changing circumstances
you brought me shelter.
Did you not give me hope?
The desire to be loved
not of Narcissus fold
but genuine that beats
the Madonna.
Did you not give me hope?
The elixir of your voice
the soothing reprimands
you constantly give. The
panacea of your speech
kept away Charon's call.
Did you not give me hope?
Selfless like the Horse
on your back I ride
the Prometheus of me
my character you forged
with the steel of Ogun.
I walk on water, for I have
Poseidon.
Did you not give me hope?
ILLUSION'S PHASE
The deed is done
the war is won
the pain and the suffer
and the sly Lucifer
is a thing of the past
into a new age I cast
This new kingdom
buries all the boredom
the survivers are free
and at liberty to glee
only few won salvation
in this age of restoration
I survived the purge
the great force surge
in this new world
devoid of evil blood
I'll live eternal
and abstain from carnal
I have peace
all can see
Stuttered and battered
I woke up clattered
alas! It's a dream
there's no win
with utmost melancholy
and clandestine holy
I remember reality
is nothing but; absurdity
